Alice
Evelyn Leith Laing's Family
The
music playing in this page is "Rowan Tree". A
Rowan stood in my mother's Granny Leith's garden. This is
from Lesley Nelson's Folk Music site at http://www.contemplator.com/folk.html.
To stop the music, go the the control
panel.

The
Leiths traced their descent from survivors of the
Spanish Armada. "Mad
Jock" lived in Harthill Castle (between Insch
and Inverurie) in 1639 and was a great supporter of
the Royalist Cause against the Covenanters.
There was also a branch of the family in Caithness.
