1451: The University of Glasgow was established by a bull of Pope Nicholas V

February

1642: The National Covenant

March

1633: A Royal Warrant issued at Whitehall to raise Scotland's first Infantry Regiment, The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment), 1st Regiment of Foot, and served with distinction for 373 years.

April

1746: The Battle of Culloden

May

1689: Cameronians , (Scottish Rifles), formed.
 

June

1940: The 51st (Highland) Division was forced to surrender at St Valéry-en-Caux.
 

July

1916: Battle of The Somme began

August

1330: Battle of Teba, The Real "Braveheart" event

September

1678: The Royal Scots Fusiliers raised

October

1914: The London Scottish saw its first action "Halloween".

November

St Andrew's Day.

1560: The First General Assembly of the Church of Scotland
