There is a belief in the family of descent from survivors of the Spanish Armada. The Spanish Ship “SANTA CATARINA” was wrecked at Collieston supporting the Earl of Huntly and the Earl of Errol’s Rebellion in 1594 but local legend long held it to be an Armada ship (1588). My Mother said an aunt had documented the history but it had been lost.
