Killed in action at the Battle of Elviña, La Coruña, 16th January 1809, three out of four of his Divisional Commanders were Scots, four of his Brigade Commanders were Scots, Seven Scottish Regiments took part and our ancestor Private James Noble of the Gordon Highlanders was present.
