Leith
Leith, originally Breton. The name was changed from Breton to match that of the port town of Leith (in turn named after the river, from the ancestor language of modern Welsh for damp or moist spoken by the Gododdin, 2,000 years ago) after they arrived in Midlothian in the 14th Century.
The Breton Commune of Letheil de Bretagne is named after “An Tilh” in Breton “Sacred Stone”.
It can also mean “Elm” or “Linden”.
